Cops ID Elderly Woman Killed in Franklin Square Crash

The accident happened Sunday afternoon, police said.

Nassau Police have identified a woman who died after a car accident in Franklin Square Sunday afternoon.

Vincenza Grizzaffi, 85, of Elmont, died Sunday after she was hospitalized with “multiple trauma injuries,” police confirmed Monday.

Grizzaffi was driving south on Franklin Avenue at 2:41 p.m. and was turning left onto Oaks Drive when she collided with an oncoming car, cops said.

The 25-year-old driver of the other car suffered a broken leg, police said. He was brought to a nearby hospital for treatment, cops said.

No criminality is suspected in the accident, officials said.

Both cars were impounded for brake and safety checks.
