Cops: Man Bit Freeport Taxi Driver
Two men from RVC and Freeport assaulted a cab driver after a fight about fares, police said.

Two men assaulted a cab driver in Freeport after an argument over a fare early Sunday morning, according to Nassau County Police.
At 4:10 a.m., Darwin Barrera, 24, of Rockville Centre, and Jairon Jacinto Barrientos, 32, of Freeport, got a ride from Latino Taxi, cops said.
When they reached Smith Street and Guy Lombardo Avenue, the 32-year-old driver and his passengers began arguing over the fare, police said. When the driver called Freeport Police, both passengers began to punch him, cops said. Barrera also bit the driver on his left forearm and grabbed his cellphone, police said.

Freeport Police found and arrested Barrera and Barrientos a short time later, cops said.
The driver sustained a laceration to his head and was hospitalized nearby for his injuries, authorities said.

Barrera and Barrientos were both charged with second-degree robbery. They were arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
