Groundbreaking Held For Malverne's New Police Department Headquarters

MALVERNE, NY — The Village of Malverne will have a new police department headquarters. The village board recently put the shovels in the ground.

The new state-of-the-art police department will come without raising taxes, the village said.

Mayor Kevin Corbett joined other local officials for the groundbreaking ceremony last week.

The village also praised Chief John Aresta and the Malverne PBA for their "collective efforts" in accomplishing this moment for the community.

Work on the project was delayed for the last three years due to the pandemic.

The new department will be located at 1 Arlington Avenue. It's expected to be completed within a year.
