Lynbrook South Middle School Holds Food Drive

Volunteers helped Salvation Army in Freeport provide Thanksgiving meals.

Students at Lynbrook South Middle School organized a Thanksgiving food drive, part of the school’s holiday tradition.

After sorting and bagging the food, student and parent volunteers delivered it to the Salvation Army in Freeport, helping that organization spread holiday cheer. Middle school teacher Alyssa Papa was in charge of the drive.

“The food drive was a great success,” Papa said. “The best part was seeing how teachers, students and parents collaborated to create a wonderful experience for our students and for those who benefited from their efforts.”
