Malverne 5K Run and Walk for Education, Used Book Sale at Witches Brew

  • A Malverne 5K run and walk will be held on Sunday, October 6, starting at 9 a.m. The run n is a major fundraising event for Malverne Educational and Fitness Foundation, supporting youth projects in the school district. More info. can be found here.
  • There will be a used book sale at the Witches Brew in West Hempstead on Saturday, 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. “All books priced at $1 to $5 each! We have hundreds to choose from, so stop on by and give a book a new home. All proceeds go toward providing free creative writing programs to more than 350,000 adults and children worldwide though NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month).”    
  • A family mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Hempstead on Sunday, October 6. 
  • The Malverne Historical Society Presents Marisa Berman, author of "Nunley's Amusement Park", a history of the park and famed Carousel, on Sunday, Oct. 6, 6 p.m. at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City.
