Malverne Chamber Pres. Maria Casini Is 'Hardest Working Volunteer'

MALVERNE, NY — Without community leaders, Malverne wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize these often unsung community leaders and celebrate their contributions. This submission comes from Laura Casini, sister of nominee Maria Casini.

What does the community leader do? She is the president of the Malverne Chamber of Commerce and sits on the board of our local hospital.

Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored? Before Maria took over, Malverne was a sleepy town with few activities and no local business promotion. She is a marketing and branding specialist and saw how our town could be promoted and enhanced. Now we have local festivals, a booming business district and an organic farm that hosts many events. It seems every month there is a fair or other event for locals to enjoy and to introduce others to this beautiful hamlet. She is tireless in her work to help small businesses.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero? Maria Casini is the hardest-working volunteer community member in the world. Not a day goes by that she isn’t working towards a better and more successful Malverne.
