Young Lynbrook Journalists Awarded
Lynbrook High School's newspaper earns recognition from Long Island Press High School Journalism Awards Program.

Staff members from Lynbrook High School’s Horizon newspaper earned seven recognitions in the 2015 Long Island Press High School Journalism Awards Program, which recognizes outstanding high school journalism. They were presented with their certificates at a gala celebration at Hofstra University.
The annual competition garnered nearly 1,600 submissions from more than 25 schools across Long Island. Lynbrook High School pair Tali Zingman and Elaine Chen took first place for their Arts Review story, while Gabe Ajzenman placed first for his entry in the Deadline/Breaking News category and third for a Financial News article. Nicole Bien, Emily Flyer and Skyler Kessler received second place awards for their Feature, Student Issues and Sports Photo pieces, respectively.
Jasmine Burgos placed third for her Fashion Feature.

Lynbrook High School’s Horizon newspaper participants work under the direction of teacher Jessica Sanders and have a longstanding history of success.
Earlier this year, the publication received 25 awards in the annual Empire State Scholastic Press Association competition.
