23-Year-Old Arrested After Attempted Murder Of Woman, 84, In Nassau Home: PD

The 84-year-old was found with a puncture wound in her chest, police say.

MASSAPEQUA, NY — A 23-year-old woman was arrested after attempting to murder a woman, 84, in Massapequa Wednesday, police said.

According to Nassau County police, Richmond Hill resident Amanda A. Fraser was arrested just after 10:30 a.m. Thursday in relation to the attempted murder that took place on Bay Drive.

Fraser was charged with second-degree attempted murder after police said they found an 84-year-old Massapequa woman at a residence with a puncture wound in her chest.

Public information officers confirmed Thursday at 8:20 a.m. that the 84-year-old was still in serious critical condition, and confirmed that the Bay Drive incident had prompted Massapequa High School to enter a secure lockout Wednesday.

Police did not report a scheduled arraignment when announcing the arrest, saying Fraser would be arraigned, "when medically practical."
