Man Charged With DWI Had 5 Young Children In Car: PD
Francisco Pimentel faces charges that include endangering the welfare of child and aggravated driving while intoxicated, police say.
MASSAPEQUA PARK, NY — A Seaford man was arrested after a drunken driving crash with young children in his vehicle, police said.
Officers responded to Harbor Lane in Massapequa Park for a car accident on Friday night, police said.
Francisco Pimentel, 42, was driving a 2010 GMC and struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle, authorities said.

Officers observed Pimental to have slurred speech and watery eyes. He was also unsteady on his
feet and had an odor of alcohol emanating from his breath, police said.
A sobriety test was conducted, yielding positive results and Pimental was placed under arrest, police said.

Further investigation revealed he had five youngsters: ages 10, 11, 11, 12 and 13 in the vehicle, police said. They were all released into the custody of their family members. Three of the juveniles were transported to local area hospitals for evaluation.
Pimentel is charged with five counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated (child under 16) under Leandra’s Law, five counts of endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of driving while intoxicated, police said.
He was scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
