Lockout procedures were initiated at Unqua Elementary School Wednesday afternoon due to a police investigation in the area, authorities said.
The steps were taken after a cell phone was snatched from a man near Sunrise Highway and Carmans Road at 12:5 p.m.
School officials received word of the search and began the lockout at 1:15 p.m. It was lifted about 10 minutes later, school officials said.
Police and district officials did a full inspection of the perimeter of the school.
