We can't guarantee you'll learn how a rotund man can disappear down a small chimney, but there will be a holiday event this week designed to amaze and awe.
The Long Island Mystics will present a holiday magic show Friday at Community United Methodist Church located at 100 Park Boulevard in Massapequa. Showtime is 7 p.m.
The show will benefit a holiday food drive, and admission is one non-perishable food item per person. Cash donations will also be accepted. Organizers are asking attendees not to bring glass items. Donations will go to the Long Island Council of Churches Food Pantry.
Performers will include Phil Levy, John Lepre, Pat Darienzo, Jose Merced, Linda Robbins and Joe Lobue.
The Mystics are a chapter of the Society of American Magicians and they hold monthly meetings, including one on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the church.
