Meetings and Music This Week
Here's what's happening this week in and around Massapequa.

August can often be a light month for public meetings, but we have two in the area this week, while the Town's Music Under the Stars Program enters its final week. Each Monday we'll tell you about the can't-miss events, important public meetings and whatever else is going around town. Want to let us know about your event? Post it on our calendar.
Here's what's happening in and around Massapequa this week:
Village Board: The Massapequa Park Village Board meets on Monday at 8 p.m. at Village Hall, located at 151 Front Street. They will consider cabaret licenses for three area establishments.
Town Board: There will also be a meeting of the Oyster Bay Town Council this week. It will convene a 10 a.m. Tuesday at Town Hall, 54 Audrey Avenue in Oyster Bay.
Concerts: This week marks the final week of the town's 2013 "Music Under the Stars Series with three performances in Massapequa. Irish singers Andy Cooney and Ronan Tynan will perform together Tuesday, while Dean Karahalis and the concert pops orchestra will present "Disney in Concert," Friday. Foreigner singer Lou Gramm will play the series finale Saturday. All concerts will start at 8 p.m. at Burns Park.
Teddy: There will be a lecture on Theodore Roosevelt, "The First of the Modern Presidents" at the Bar Harbour Library Thursday at 3 p.m.
BP: Bar Harbour will host free blood pressure readings Friday at 10 a.m.
