New Cafe Coming To Massapequa Park In April
Cafe Bella will serve coffee, food and gelato when it opens later this year.
MASSAPEQUA PARK, NY — A new café plans to open in Massapequa Park later this year, offering up gelato and other treats in addition to coffee.
Cafe Bella plans to open in April at 4863 Merrick Rd., next to Sobol. It is owned by Dawn Lamont and her husband, Steve Viccaro, who also own Sobol.
"It's something I've always wanted to do," Lamont said. "It seems to me like there's not a lot of things on that strip. And we know that the high school kids there don't have a decent sized lunch room."

The café will feature delicious coffee, like nitro cold brew, but will also have a selection of gelato. Lamont said she also wants to offer wraps and baked goods, in the hopes of giving school kids more options for lunch in the area.
Plans for how Cafe Bella will look are still being worked out, but Lamont said she's hoping to give it a cozy atmosphere.
