Oyster Bay Extending Ice Skating Hours For Holiday Recess
The town's three rinks will be open more often to give families something to do during the break.
TOWN OF OYSTER BAY, NY — Temperatures will be frigid over the upcoming holiday break. Thankfully, there's one thing that's great to do when it's cold: ice skating.
The Town of Oyster Bay will be extending the public skating hours at its two rinks from Dec. 24 to 31 to give families something extra to do during the holiday break.
The town operates three ice skating rinks: outdoor rinks at Marjorie Post Park in Massapequa and Syosset-Woodbury Park in Woodbury, and the indoor Skating Center at Bethpage Community Park.

- Dec. 24: 1-3 p.m.
- Dec. 25: CLOSED
- Dec. 26-30: 1-3 p.m., 4-6 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
- Dec. 31: 1-3 p.m., plus 4-6 p.m. at outdoor rinks
"During this holiday recess when schools are closed, the town's ice rinks will be open and offering a special modified schedule with additional public sessions to accommodate families who are looking to enjoy ice time with their children," said Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino. "I encourage anyone who enjoys ice skating and is off from school or work to take advantage of these special public sessions, and enjoy a staycation right in their own backyards!"
