Severe Damage After Fire Breaks Out At Massapequa Home: Police

Police say the fire started just after 7 p.m. Tuesday.

MASSAPEQUA, NY. — Police and fire personnel responded to a home on Hawthorne Street Tuesday night after a fire broke out just after 7 p.m., police said.

The fire was extinguished by the Massapequa Fire Department with help from neighboring departments, police said, and no injuries were reported. Police reported that the home had suffered severe damage, and that the county fire marshal and arson bomb squad responded to the scene.

As of Wednesday morning, police said an investigation into the fire was ongoing.
