
Monday is Veteran's Day, a Federal, state and Nassau County holiday. It honors those who've served in America's armed dorces. It's also known as Armistice Day, the anniversary of the end of World War I.
Here's a look at what's going on in Massapequa:
Ceremony: There will be numerous ceremonies throughout the area to mark the day. The annual wreath-laying ceremony will take place at Klestinec Park at 11 a.m.
Schools: Public schools Massapequa will be closed on Monday.
Libraries: Both branches of the Massapequa Public Library are closed.
Mail: There will be no mail delivery on Monday.
Town: Town Hall in Oyster Bay is closed, and there will be no Sanitation pickup Monday. Those who normally receive sanitation pickup on Monday will get it Tuesday, while those who normally receive it Tuesday will receive it Wednesday. The TOwn skating rink will be on a holiday schedule.
