Driver In Deadly Long Island Crash Was Intoxicated: Report

According to sources contacted by News 12, his blood alcohol content was twice the legal limit.

Police are continuing to investigate the Monday night crash that killed four in Yaphank, but according to a report from News 12, Gustaver Geyer, one of the drivers in the crash, had a blood alcohol content that was twice the legal limit.

Patch reached out to Suffolk County Police, but a spokesperson said that they did not have information about Geyer's blood alcohol content.

Geyer was alone in his truck when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a car carrying four adults and a baby traveling in the opposite direction, police say. Both vehicles caught fire, and only the baby and one of the adults survived. They are both being treated for injuries sustained in the crash.
