Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Suffolk Crash With SUV: Police
He was taken to Stony Brook Hospital in the 2nd serious crash involving motorcycles in around 18 hours; the 3rd in the county, cops say.
MEDFORD, NY — A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash with an SUV in Medford on Monday afternoon for the second time in around 18 hours, and the third time in Suffolk County since Saturday, police said.
At around 3:15 p.m., a 59-year-old Selden man was operating a 2002 Yamaha motorcycle westbound on Jamaica Avenue when it struck a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder at the intersection of Jamaica Avenue and Old Medford Avenue, according to police.
He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital by Suffolk police helicopter in serious condition, police said.

The Nissan's driver, a 66-year-old Medford man, was also taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, but by ambulance and with a non-life-threatening condition, according to police.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said.

A 44-year-old Medford man was driving a 2007 Suzuki Boulevard motorcycle eastbound on Horseblock Road when it crashed into a westbound 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, as it was turning left onto Maine Avenue at around 9:245 p.m. on Sunday, according to police.
He was also taken to Stony Brook in serious condition, but the other driver was not injured, police said.
A motorcyclist was killed on Saturday in Mastic after his motorcycle struck a vehicle; the other driver was also not injured, according to police.
