1 Dead In Car, Tractor-Trailer Crash On I-87
Southbound traffic is being diverted around the scene through the commercial vehicle inspection area.
WOODBURY, NY — Police are investigating a fatal crash Monday on Interstate 87 in the town of Woodbury.
The New York State Police said the crash happened around 6:15 a.m. Monday on the southbound interstate at mile marker 45. 1, just south of exit 16 (Harriman/Rt 17).
A preliminary investigation found the crash involved a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle which was stopped on the right shoulder and re-entered the roadway into the path of the tractor-trailer.

Troopers said the driver of the passenger vehicle was killed in the crash.
All southbound lanes remain closed.
