1 Dead When Tractor-Trailer Goes Off I-84 In Orange County
A small brown dog was found alive in the cab of the truck, police said.
GREENVILLE, NY — A tractor-trailer went off the interstate Thursday in Orange County resulting in the death of one man.
The accident occurred in the town of Greenville on Interstate 84 and happened around 6:40 p.m., the New York State Police said.
Police said a 2014 Freightliner, driven by Timothy J. Suer, 69, of Lancaster, Ohio, was going east on I-84 when it left the roadway and crashed into a ditch on the southeast shoulder.

It struck a guide wire, jackknifed and came to rest after hitting a tree, authorities said.
Suer was the only occupant. He was found dead in the driver’s seat of the tractor-trailer still wearing his seatbelt, police said.

The man was removed from the cab of the truck with the assistance of the Mountain View Fire Department.
Troopers found a small brown dog alive in the cab. It was turned over to the town of Deerpark dog Warden.
Police said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
