1 Injured In Crash On I-84 In Orange County

Police said a passenger vehicle and tractor-trailers were involved.

MONTGOMERY, NY — Two tractor-trailers and a passenger vehicle collided on Interstate 84 Tuesday in the town of Montgomery, resulting in one person injured.

The New York State Police said, around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, troopers responded to the collision on the eastbound I-84 in Montgomery.

A preliminary investigation found that a tractor-trailer operated by Brandon Collins, 30, of Fayetteville, Texas, struck the rear of a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Janet Colon, 30, of Monroe.

That collision pushed the Malibu into the rear of another tractor-trailer, operated by Dennis L. Edner, 55, of Owego, Tioga County.

All vehicles were traveling east at the time, police said.

Colon was entrapped in her car and was extracted by the town of Montgomery Fire, EMS and paramedics. She was flown by medivac helicopter to Westchester Medical Center in critical condition.

Police said the incident is still under investigation.
