13-Year-Old Arrested After Making Threats Of Mass Harm Against School: NYSP

Police say the threats were made after a disciplinary incident at Astor Services in the Village of Rhinebeck.

RHINEBECK, NY — A Hudson Valley student has been arrested after making threats against their school, according to police.

New York State Police say that on Saturday, troopers from Rhinebeck, in collaboration with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, arrested a 13-year-old from Port Ewen, for misdemeanor making a threat of mass harm.

On the previous day, state police received information that a student at Astor Services, located on Mill Street in the Village of Rhinebeck, had madethe threats against the school after a disciplinary incident.

The child was arrested and issued a family court appearance ticket returnable to the Dutchess County Family Court.

State police say there is no threat to the public at this time.
