18 Year Sentence For Child Sexual Abuse For New Windsor Man
The man also faces two decades of post-release supervision.

NEW WINDSOR, NY — An Orange County man will be going to prison for sexually assaulting a child.
Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler said Byron Romero, 36, of New Windsor, was sentenced Monday to 18 years in state prison and 20 years post-release supervision in connection with his guilty plea to first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child.
He admitted he engaged in numerous acts of sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13.

Hoovler said Romero will have to register as a sex offender before his release from prison.
“This defendant’s vile and outrageous conduct affected the innocent victim of his crime,” Hoovler said.

“While the conviction and sentence cannot restore what the child has lost,” he said, “it will ensure that this defendant will not be able to victimize anyone again."
