HUDSON VALLEY, NY — While daffodils and budding trees are heralding the progress of spring, the weather will continue to be cooler than average.

“Unfortunately, we are going to be below normal temperatures the next couple of days,” said Abbey Gant, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.

It is expected to be windy in the Hudson Valley today, with the potential for wind gusts of up to 38 miles per hour, according to Gant. Wind will mostly be in the 25 to 35 mile per hour range.

While the region is not under any wind advisory, there is a potential for branches and wires to come down due to the wind, she said.

“There will be a gradual warm-up toward more normal temperatures for the weekend and early next week,” Gant said.
