5 Residents Displaced After Kingston Blaze: FD
The fire damaged a residential building on Rogers Street, according to the fire department.
KINGSTON, NY — A Tuesday afternoon fire damaged a residential building and displaced five people who were living there, fire officials said.
The Kingston Fire Department was dispatched Tuesday around 2 p.m. for a report of a fire on a roof, according to a department Facebook post.
Firefighters arrived in less than two minutes and discovered the fire at 28 Rogers St., a two-story house with an attic.

According to the department, the fire was in an area with limited access, which made fire suppression efforts “difficult.”
Firefighters worked on the second floor, in the attic and from the aerial ladder to extinguish the blaze, officials said.

No one was injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The American Red Cross is providing emergency aid to the five people who were displaced.
