Body Of Missing Fisherman Found In NJ

DEERPARK, NY — The body of a man who was fishing on the Delaware River in Orange County earlier this month was found.

The New York State Police said, around 2 p.m. Monday, the body of William G. Vandyke, 47, of York, Pennsylvania, was found in the Delaware River in New Jersey.

State police were assisted by the New Jersey State Police and the United States Park Rangers.

Vandyke had gone missing the morning of Sept. 8 when the boat he and another man were fishing from capsized on the river in Orange County.

The other man was found on the shore and received medical treatment, police said.
