Bronx Man Accused Of Having 4 Kilograms Of Cocaine

Police said he was driving an SUV with Connecticut plates in Sullivan County when he was arrested.

ROCKLAND, NY — A Bronx man driving with a Connecticut license plate in Sullivan County was accused of having cocaine in his SUV.

New York State Police said, around 6:30 p.m. Monday, troopers saw a 2013 blue Honda Pilot with a Connecticut license plate driving on Route 17 in the vicinity of exit 94 in the town of Rockland. It was violating several vehicle and traffic infractions, police said.

The SUV was stopped and Fernando Rojas-Urena, 24, of the Bronx, was identified as the driver.

Probably cause was developed to search the vehicle, and a hidden compartment was found in the glove box.

K-9 Moran along with his handler arrived at the scene to assist.

Troopers located 4 kilograms of cocaine hidden in the car.

Rojas-Urena was arrested for first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, felonies.

He was sent to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.
