Cops Save Main Street Stabbing Victim's Life With Tourniquet
The victim, who was losing consciousness due to blood loss, was rushed to the hospital, according to Poughkeepsie police.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Quick action from police officers is being credited with helping to save the life of a stabbing victim.
On Saturday, just after 9 p.m., officers responded to Montgomery Street after reports of the stabbing.
At the scene, a 49-year-old victim had stab wounds to his leg and buttocks.

The victim was losing consciousness due to blood loss and officers immediately rendered first aid, which included the application of a department-issued tourniquet.
The victim was rushed to the hospital and is expected to recover.

Investigators say that the stabbing took place on the 300 block of Main Street, where detectives and crime scene technicians cordoned off the crime scene.
