Corrections Officer Accused Of Trying To Bring Drugs Into Prison

Authorities said she faces three felonies, including official misconduct.

DUTCHESS COUNTY, NY — A New York State corrections officer was accused Friday of trying to bring drugs into a prison.

The Dutchess County Drug Task Force said Charlinea Ganzaroli, 23, was arrested and charged with third-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree attempted promoting prison contraband and second-degree official misconduct, all felonies.

Authorities said the arrest was the result of an investigation into Ganzaroli, a current state corrections officer, trying to smuggle narcotics into a state Department of Corrections facility.

This investigation is ongoing, authorities said, and no further information will be released at this time.
