CT Fugitive Arrested At Poughkeepsie Jewelry Store: Police
The man was on probation due to his stealing over $4,800 from a Connecticut jewelry store.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A Connecticut man was arrested after being accused of trying to scam a jewelry store.
The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department said, around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, officers were sent to the Diamond Mine jewelry store, located on South Road, for a report of a person who was believed to be scamming jewelry stores in the area.
Upon arrival, officers found a man who gave a name that was considered to be false.

He was detained and taken to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Headquarters.
Following an investigation, the person was identified as Anthony Spencer, 35, of New Haven, Connecticut.

Police said he was found to have an active felony arrest warrant out of Connecticut for violating his probation, which was due to the theft of more than $4,800 from a jewelry store in the state.
Spencer was charged by Poughkeepsie police with second-degree criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor, as well as being a fugitive from justice from Connecticut.
He was arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Justice Court after which he was sent to the Dutchess County Jail pending extradition.
