CT Man Drives Drunk With 3 Children In Car: NYSP

Police said the Connecticut resident didn't have a valid driver's license.

NEWBURGH, NY — A Connecticut man was accused of drunken driving with three children in his car.

The New York State Police said, around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, a trooper saw a 2003 Ford Taurus traveling east on Interstate 84 in the town of Newburgh in violation of numerous vehicle and traffic laws.

The car was stopped, and the trooper identified the driver as Segundo Chuquiloja, 36, of Torrington, Connecticut.

According to the trooper, he didn't have a valid driver's license and appeared to be impaired by alcohol.

There were also three minor children in the car, according to law enforcement.

Chuquiloja was taken into custody and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, Leandra's Law, a felony.

The man had a blood alcohol content of 0.13 percent, police said.

He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Newburgh Court Oct. 17.
