Dover Man Accused Of Assaulting Two People
State police said the man had an order of protection against him at the time of the assault.

DOVER, NY — A man in Dutchess County was accused of assaulting two people while he had an order of protection against him.
The New York State Police said Joseph T. Hoffman, 28, of Dover, was arrested and charged Wednesday with second-degree assault with a weapon and aggravated criminal contempt, felonies, and third-degree assault, second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal mischief, criminal obstruction of breath and second-degree unlawful imprisonment, misdemeanors.
Police said, shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday, troopers responded to Oniontown Road in the town of Dover for a domestic dispute.

The investigation found Hoffman physically assaulted two victims while armed with a knife and an order of protection against Hoffman in place.
He was arraigned in the Town of Dover Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail without bail pending a future court date on Dec. 12.
