Off-Duty Wallkill Cop Mugged In The Bronx

The police officer, who lives in Wallkill, was with a friend near Co-op City when the incident happened.

WALLKILL, NY — An off-duty Wallkill police officer was mugged at gunpoint in the Bronx Sunday, losing his police badge in the process

Four men approached the officer and a friend near Co-op City about 1 a.m. Sunday, pulling a gun and demanded their property, the New York Post reported.

The police officer, 36, saw his wallet and shield taken from him.

The cop and friend also lost their credit cards, bracelet and cell phone, Mid Hudson News reported.

The robbers got into a black car that had Pennsylvania license plates, the New York Police Department said.
