Victim ID'd, Gunman Remains At Large After Main Street Slaying

A 22-year-old Hyde Park man was found with several gunshot wounds, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department.

CITY OF POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The person responsible for the fatal, early morning gun violence in Poughkeepsie has not yet been caught, according to police.

The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department says that on Friday, around 5:20 a.m., officers responded to the corner of Main Street and Garden Street after receiving a report of a shooting.

Officers found a victim, 22-year-old Gabrial Mosca, of Hyde Park, with several gunshot wounds. He was taken to MidHudson Regional Hospital, where he died.

"The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department is dedicated to bringing those responsible to justice and to protecting the well-being of our residents," Detective Lieutenant Sean McCarthy said in a statement. "We are grateful to the community for their assistance and continued support."

Main Street was closed between Market Street and Academy Street for several hours while crime scene technicians and detectives investigated.
