WAPPINGER, NY — The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public’s help in finding a motorcyclist who struck and injured a pedestrian and then fled the scene.

The accident happened April 9 around 11:43 p.m., when an unknown black motorcycle collided with the female pedestrian along the southbound shoulder of Spook Hill Road, south of Myers Corners Road.

The pedestrian suffered “significant” injuries, including to her upper left arm and lower leg, according to sheriffs. Sheriffs are withholding her name while the accident remains under investigation.
