Hudson Valley Man Killed In Single-Car Crash
The crash happened Friday night on Route 55 in the town of Highland.

HIGHLAND, NY — A Port Jervis man was killed in a single-car crash Friday on Route 55 in the town of Highland.
The New York State Police said the crash happened around 10:20 p.m. Friday.
An initial investigation found that Jason Reed Jr., 22, of Port Jervis, was driving a 2022 Subaru-RX on Route 55 when for unknown reasons he lost control of the vehicle.

The Subaru left the roadway off the north shoulder and struck an embankment, police said.
Reed was ejected from the vehicle, according to authorities.

When troopers arrived, emergency medical personnel were performing lifesaving measures on Reed, but he was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Michael Denlinger, 21, who was a passenger in the car, was injured and taken by ambulance to Garnet Health Medical Center in Orange County.
He was treated for a head injury and later released, police said.
This is an ongoing investigation, authorities said.
