Hyde Park Police Release More Information About School Threat
A 15-year-old student was arrested after being accused of making the threat Sunday.
HYDE PARK, NY — A 15-year-old boy who attends Franklin D. Roosevelt High School was accused of making threats against the school.
The Hyde Park Police Department released more information about the threat which was made Sunday.
Several calls were received about the threat, the police department said, and they began working with the high school’s administration to identify a suspect.

The 15-year-old was ID’d and immediately interviewed with a parent by the FDR High School resource officer and detectives.
He was charged with making a threat of mass harm, a misdemeanor.

The teen was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Dutchess County Juvenile Probation and was taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
Police said the boy is not currently in attendance in the Hyde Park school district.
School officials said its policy is to immediately suspend a student in the event of such behavior. Where warranted, the district seeks long-term discipline in accordance with the code of conduct.
“The quick action by the school administration and the Hyde Park Police Department prevented a serious situation,” police officials said. “The overall safety of all the students is paramount.”
