K9 Rovak Helps Troopers Find Stolen Weapon During Taconic Stop: NYSP
New York State Troopers report finding a stolen, loaded Springfield Armory .40 caliber handgun during the stop in Pleasant Valley.

PLEASANT VALLEY, NY — A Dutchess County police stop resulted in more than traffic tickets, thanks to a little help from a dog named "Rovak."
New York State Police say that on Monday, around 5:33 p.m., members of the New York State Police Troop K Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) pulled over a vehicle traveling north on the Taconic State Parkway, in the Town of Pleasant Valley, for traffic violations.
The driver was identified as 41-year-old Jarrell A. Jenkins, of the Bronx, and the front seat passenger was identified as 34-year-old Rodnesha S. Wilson, of Troy.

During the stop, NYSP K9 Rovak sniffed around the exterior of the Honda and alerted officers to the presence of narcotics, police said.
A search then led to troopers finding a stolen, loaded Springfield Armory .40 caliber handgun, according to state police.

Jenkins and Wilson were arrested and charged with felony second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felony criminal possession of a firearm, and felony fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
The pair was arraigned before the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center. Jenkins and Wilson are scheduled to reappear in court on Thursday.
