Lane Reduction Expected Along Route 44 In Poughkeepsie
A gas main will be installed, the DOT says.
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The New York State Department of Transportation is advising Dutchess County motorists that U.S. Highway 44 will be reduced to one lane in each direction, at Clinton Street in the City of Poughkeepsie.
The closure begins between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, through Friday, Sept. 30, to facilitate a gas main installation, weather permitting.
Motorists should anticipate delays and plan accordingly.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
