Man Accused In Knifepoint Robbery At Dutchess County Motel
A man showed up at the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department saying he'd been robbed at knifepoint at a Hyde Park motel.

HYDE PARK, NY — A 30-year-old Hyde Park man was accused of a knifepoint robbery at a Dutchess County motel.
The Town of Hyde Park Police Department said it was contacted around 3 p.m. Thursday by the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department with a report that a man was at the city agency claiming he was robbed at the Golden Manor Motel at 4100 Albany Post Road in Hyde Park.
Police said he told them he was robbed at knifepoint.

Poughkeepsie police told Hyde Park police they had detained a man for having stolen property possibly connected to the robbery.
Detectives from Hyde Park immediately began an investigation and confirmed that a robbery involving a knife had taken place earlier in the day at Golden Manor.

Police said Joseph H. Navarro, 30, of Hyde Park forcibly took several personal items from the victim. No one was injured during the robbery, police said.
Navarro was taken into custody by Hyde Park police at the Poughkeepsie city police station and charged with first-degree robbery, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing, misdemeanors.
He was arraigned in the Town of Hyde Park Justice Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail on $20,000 bail, $40,000 bond or $60,000 partially secured bond
Navarro is due back in court Monday.
