MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Here’s a look ahead at public meetings scheduled for the week of Dec. 12 in the mid-Hudson Valley.
In the city of Poughkeepsie, there is a Common Council meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19. It will be preceded by public hearings at 5:30 p.m. on the rise of crime in the city of Poughkeepsie and at 6 p.m. for comments on a local law entitled “Waterfront Consistency Review.”
The agenda for the Common Council meeting, which can be viewed here, includes comments by the chairwoman and mayor, the appointment of a council member for the 6th Ward, approval of the 2023 city budget and two resolutions allocating American Rescue Plan Act funds.

The Planning Board will meet at 6 p.m Tuesday, Dec. 20. The agenda, which can be seen in full here, includes a public hearing on a multi-family residential subdivision at 135 Main St., an application for an accessory parking lot at 20-72 Vassar Farm Lane, an application for a two-room day care at 110 South Grand Ave. and an application for site plan review of a South Avenue lot for construction of a five-story multi-family residential development with 87 one-bedroom units.
The Zoning Board of Appeals will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22. The agenda, which can be seen here, includes an application to subdivide the property at 135 Main St. and the construction of a new building with 72 dwelling units on the new lot with an existing 119 unit multiple on the original lot, an application for use variances at 579 Main St. and approval of the 2023 meeting schedule.
