Michigan Man Steals Truck From Virginia, Gets Caught In NY: NYSP
Police said he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation in the town of Wawarsing.

WAWARSING, NY — A man from Michigan was accused of stealing a car when he was traveling in Ulster County Tuesday morning.
The New York State Police said, around 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, a trooper on Route 209 in the town of Wawarsing saw a 2001 GMC 3500 truck going south in violation of the state vehicle and traffic law.
The truck was stopped by the trooper and Johnathen E. Wright, 24, of Newaygo, Michigan, was identified as the driver.

While speaking with him, the trooper found out the truck was reported stolen from Newport News, Virginia, and that Wright had a suspended license out of Michigan.
He was charged with third-degree possession of stolen property, a felony, police said.

Wright was issued an appearance ticket to return to the Town of Wawarsing Court Sept. 9.
