Middletown Man Accused Of Murder In Wallkill Stabbing

The fatal stabbing occurred Sunday in the victim's Wallkill home.

WALLKILL, NY — An arrest was made in the fatal stabbing of a Wallkill man.

The Town of Wallkill Police Department said Damante Troy Stansberry, 23, of Middletown, was accused of stabbing Jeffrey Harris in Harris’s Wallkill home Sunday.

Stansberry was charged Tuesday with second-degree murder, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.

He was arraigned and sent to the Orange County Jail without bail. His next court appearance is set for Monday in the Town of Wallkill Court.

The investigation into this case is ongoing and the Town of Wallkill Police Department is being assisted by the New York State Police, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Orange County Medical Examiner and the Hudson Valley Crime Analysis Center.
