Missing 5-Year-Old Found In Hudson Valley Creek Dies
Authorities said the child was found unconscious and not breathing in several feet of water on Sunday.
ARLINGTON, NY — A missing 5-year-old boy found in a creek Sunday in Dutchess County has died.
The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department said the child was found in a creek along Manchester Road by the Manchester Gardens Apartments in Arlington.
Town officers were sent around 2:30 p.m. Sunday to the Manchester Gardens Apartments, located at 33 Rhobella Drive, for a report of a missing 5-year-old boy.

The apartment complex was searched, as was the surrounding area.
Searches were conducted by K-9 units from the town police and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.

During the search, an officer from the town police found a shoe in Casper Creek along Manchester Road.
A water rescue team from the Arlington Fire District found the boy submerged in several feet of water.
The child was unconscious and not breathing when found. Authorities said it was unknown at that time how long he’d been in the water.
He was removed and taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital while receiving advanced life support care.
At the hospital, officers were informed by staff that the child was pronounced dead at 5:41 p.m. Sunday.
