New Windsor Puts Halloween Curfew In Place
Town officials said they wanted to head off Halloween celebrations that go beyond ordinary and acceptable pranks."

NEW WINDSOR, NY — The town of New Windsor is putting a Halloween curfew in place beginning Friday night to head off what officials said were Halloween celebrations that have “gone beyond that of ordinary merriment and acceptable pranks.”
According to a Facebook post, town officials said the curfew will apply to all people under the age of 18, except those traveling to or from employment, school activity or medical emergency.
It also does not apply to those in the company of a parent, guardian or someone who has the responsibility of a parent — in locus parentis.

During the curfew, minors will not be allowed to congregate on public streets or on public or private property without the permission of the owner or person in control of the property.
All minors are prohibited from trespassing on property belonging to the town unless participating in an organized event of the town.
Additionally, all persons are prohibited during the curfew period from being in possession, on any street or public place, of shaving cream, eggs, soap, rocks, spray paint, flammable or noxious chemicals, weapons of any kind or any other items that could reasonably be used to cause vandalism or bodily injury, according to the town.
Anyone who knowingly violates the curfew and the orders may be arrested, the town said.
