Orange County Man Accused Of Having Illicit Photos Of Minors
Police said they executed a search warrant at the man's Pine Island home, and an analysis of his electronic devices led to his arrest.
PINE ISLAND, NY — An Orange County man was arrested after New York State Police said he had illicit pictures of children.
Richard Scannello, 54, of Pine Island in the town of Warwick, was charged Tuesday with 10 counts of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, felonies.
On March 25, the state computer crime investigators received information that Scannello was downloading explicit sexual materials of minors, authorities said.

After an extensive investigation, police on Dec. 6 searched Scannello’s Pine Island home. An analysis of his electronic devices led to his arrest Tuesday, police said.
Scannello was arraigned in the Town of Warwick Court and released on his own recognizance.

He is scheduled to reappear in court Dec. 20.
