Mall In Hudson Valley Evacuated After Receiving Bomb Threat Sunday
K-9 teams conducted a bomb sweep of the building on Route 9 in the town of Poughkeepsie.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The Poughkeepsie Galleria was evacuated Sunday afternoon, police said, because of a call they received about a bomb threat.
The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department said, shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday, it was notified that the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department had received a call from someone saying that bombs were placed at the Poughkeepsie Galleria.
Officers arrived on the scene to investigate and met with the mall’s management.

The decision was made to evacuate the building as a precaution.
At the request of the mall, police said K-9 teams from the town police coordinated and conducted a bomb sweep of the building once the evacuation was complete.

At 6:26 p.m. the on-scene investigation was concluded, and police said no threats were found.
Authorities said there is no threat to the public or to the Poughkeepsie Galleria at this time.
The investigation is continuing and the police department will release additional information as it becomes available.
The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department was assisted by the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department, Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Westchester County Police Department, Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and New York City Environmental Protection Police Department.
Patch reached out to the Poughkeepsie Galleria for a comment but none was immediately forthcoming.
