Poughkeepsie Woman Killed In 3-Car Crash In Newburgh
Police said a box truck crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck two other vehicles.
NEWBURGH, NY — A Poughkeepsie woman was killed in a three-car crash in the town of Newburgh Wednesday.
The Town of Newburgh Police Department said the crash happened around 9:40 a.m. in the area of Route 300 and Union Avenue.
An investigation found a 2019 Ford box truck was traveling north on Route 300 and was approaching a curve in the roadway near the intersection with Union Avenue Ext.

The box truck was driven by Luis Cintron, 49, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Near the curve in the road, police said, the box truck appears to have crossed into the southbound lane and struck a 2019 Dodge Ram driven by Michael Gessner, 37, of Wallkill.

After the box truck and Dodge Ram collided, the box truck continued north in the south lane where it struck a 2016 Ford Edge, which was being driven by Tureli Quinci, 68, of Poughkeepsie.
Quinci was treated by first responders at the scene. She was then taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh where she died of her injuries.
Cintron was treated at St. Luke’s for minor injuries and released.
Police said the road was shut down for several hours because of the investigation.
Newburgh town police were assisted by the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Team, along with Central Hudson and Mobile Life Services.
Authorities said there are no charges at this time as the investigation continues.
