The charge follows an incident which prompted multiple 911 calls Monday night, according to police.

SAUGERTIES, NY — A local man has been charged with second-degree menacing following an incident Monday night.
On Monday around 9:42 p.m., police received 911 calls reporting a man shot and suffering a head wound at the intersection of Main Street and Partition Street in Saugerties.

Inside, they found Jones suffering from facial wounds, police said. Jones was the only one who sustained any physical injuries in the incident, according to police.
Police determined a .68-caliber CO2 powered “defense pistol” designed to shoot less-lethal projectiles was the reported firearm used in the incident.
Ambulance personnel transported Jones to Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston for treatment, then he was released back to the custody of the Saugerties Police Department.
Menacing in the second-degree is a class A misdemeanor in New York, and the charge applies to situations in which an individual puts another in fear of injury or death by displaying a deadly weapon or what appears to be a deadly weapon such as a firearm, according to state law.
An investigation is ongoing, with additional charges expected, police said.
