Texas Woman Hid Pot On Her Child To Smuggle It Into Prison: NYSP

State police say that the 24-year-old was arrested and charged with promoting prison contraband and endangering the welfare of a child.

TOWN OF BEEKMAN, NY — An unwise hiding place for smuggled contraband compounded a prison visitor's troubles, according to cops.

New York State Police say that on Saturday, a trooper from Poughkeepsie reesponded to the Greenhaven Correctional Facility, in the Town of Beekman, after receiving a report of a visitor bringing contraband into the facility.

State police say that an investigation found that 24-year-old Christina C. Miranda, of Weslaco, Texas, had smuggled around 63 grams of marijuana into the facility, hiding the contraband on her child's back.

Miranda was arrested and charged with misdemeanor second-degree promoting prison contraband, and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.

She was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Beekman Court on June 12.
